Looking for an emotional night in?

Post  Mozillo on Tue Apr 13, 2010 11:18 pm

If you're looking for a night of crying... well you should watch Episode 85 and 86 of the Funimation Dub of One Piece... it's a good hour of crying there. Or even episode 10 of FMAL: BH, seeing as it is not out as I'm typing, episode 25 of the original FMA series. I don't think my manly heart would be able to take all 4 of them in one day... two was enough.

lol me niether. What happens in the episode? Something worth crying over since it's a Funimation dub instead of the 4-kids dub...

Possible spoiler for Chris about FMA:B as I'm not sure what episode it was in.

I'm further than you cause I watch subs ya know.

But anyway, heres my emotional thing.

Spoiler:
Hughes dying in both FMA and FMA:B almost made me cry...

His family's reaction afterwards, especially his daughters, made it all the worse!

Although that could be what Chris is talking about anyway.

Re: Looking for an emotional night in?

Post  Mozillo on Fri Apr 16, 2010 2:31 am

Yes it was Kev, yes it was.
The sadness is in both the 4KiDS Dub as well as the funimation dub...
There's a character called Chopper. He used to be a reindeer with a blue nose, so the other reindeers didn't like him and they sort of beat him up. Then one day he ate the Human Human fruit, turning him into a sort of human reindeer thing... This made the other reindeers kick him out cause he was walking on two legs (he was a small thing, like a fury child)
Then, he turned into his more human form (like a proper fury man) and tried to go with the humans. They scared him away and shot at him. This land has only 20 doctors owned by the evil king of the land, Wapol. However, there are two doctors, Hiriluk and some old lady that everyone fears because their methods aren't great.
Whilst running away from the feds, Hiriluks finds the bleeding reindeer man thing and takes him in. He bandages him up and they become very close. (Now the small fury child one) and Hiriluk gives him a hat.
Hiriluk becomes a sort of fatherly figure to Chopper (Hiriluk named the reindeer chopper after an explosion blew them out of his home). He tells a story about a thief who was diagnosed with a fatal disease but then saw Cherry Blossoms and was cured! A MIRACLE! So he had a pirate flag to show his fight against sickness and stuff. He was working on something to fix this Icy Islands broken heart.
ANYWAY!
After time passes Chopper comes home and his wounds are finally healed fully (after a WHOLE YEAR). Suddenly Hiriluk starts being mean to Chopper and kicks him out. When he wont leave the area Hiriluk starts to shoot at Chopper with tears in his eyes.
Whilst at the old lady's house, Chopper over hears Hiriluk telling her how he's dying and will die in 10 days. The old lady is bitter about it and Chopper is sad.
Chopper over hear some people talking about a MAGICAL ALL CURE mushroom. So whilst Hiriluk is out, Chopper enters his house and searches through his medical books, he finds a picture of a mushroom with a skull and crossbones next to it. He looks at the pirate flag and thinks it's the cure.
So chopper goes out in search of this mushroom, whilst searching he has to pass his old pack of reindeer. He turns into his more reindeer looking form and tried to walk past. The leader confronts Chopper and tackles him, after a battle they are both bleeding. Then Chopper sees the mushroom on the opposite side of this large gap.
It cuts away to Hiriluk in his house, where Chopper walks in with the mushroom... Something is wrong! Chopper is all beaten and battered, his eye is swollen, one of his legs is broken, he's all cut up but he's just holding this mushroom. Touched Hiriluk takes him back in and Chopper makes him a soup with the mushroom. Hiriluk drinks it and tells Chopper to rest and get better. He then leaves hearing how the 20 doctors of the king are ill.
So he goes off to the kings castle, after stopping at the old lady telling her to look after Chopper and continue his research, she's a bitch about it and says no saying how he is a fool for believing that cherry blossoms could cure an illness like he claimed it did for him ages ago when he was a thief (DUN DUN DUN). Hiriluk gets to the castle to find out that the doctors are actually all good and it turned out to be a trap to kill Hiriluk.
The old lady bursts into Hiriluks house asking why he was so weird. cHopper explains how he made him all better with the mushroom, holding it up. The Old lady realises and punches Chopper hard, twice. She then tells Chopper how the mushroom... is poison.
At the castle with guns being pointed at him, Hiriluk says how he's glad the doctors are fine, as he feared it was going to be a national crisis. He tells them not to bother shooting him as he'll be dead soon anyway. He sits down and pours himself a drink and then makes a toast to Chopper saying how Chopper has made the last year the happiest of his life. He drinks the drink and explodes. The king laughs but one of his guards is in tears. Before he exploded he also said how a reindeer thing will be there soon, and it will be his son and asked them not to kill it.
Chopper then runs to the castle and changes to his big human form and charges. The guard that was crying stopped him saying that he is in no fit state to attack Wapol (the king) and that he should leave, saying how Hiriluk was a great man. Chopper leaves and then lives with the old lady somehow.
The whole experience leaves chopper fearing humans and being distant from them and only trusting the old lady....

SCENE
It'd be sadder and easier if you just watched the fucking episodes though....

I asked for no explanation and did not plan on watching it either.

And what is up with animals and making us feel bad!

I mean, a woman could get butchered in a movie, in the most horrible way possible, in front if her family and friends, and I wouldn't cre, but even put a scratch on a dog and the tears start welling Razz

I knew about Chopper... well, not his backstory, but I knew about him. I watched the 4 kids randomly when it was on Toonami. Like, really randomly.

Bethany should be renamed the Iron Maiden. She has no emotions to cute cuddly Animals being beaten up and going through heart break. SHE LAUGHS AT BAMBI!

Meh bambi.

So she's the Iron Maiden because she doesn't care about animals.

But we're lovely people, who have huge hearts, because we don't care about people dying? Very Happy

Damn straight. If you are to laugh at cute fluffy animals dying or being beaten up etc... that's just cruel (unless it's Happy Tree Friends) but when a human dies... they normally die in a funny way... by funny way I mean in a strange way.

Lulz! I think it's cause humans normally die in such weird ways that we find it funny as we don't have any find of relation to the person. Whilst with the animals, they normally have them die by such simple manners, e.g. being shot. This also happens with Maes Hughes in which they are slightly more likely ways to day... or something, plus when animals are being humanised and watching their family die.... it's the reactions as well that are the daunting thing....

Reminds me of that commercial with the animals that have gotten abused. It has a really sad song that makes me tear every single time I see it.

If you're talking about the dubbed version, I have no idea what the episode you're on is about.

I watch the subbed version and so am ahead of you, so you'll have to elaborate! Smile

lol! I'll see if I have enough time to watch it over the summer.

Mom is probably gonna make me do laundry all summer... STUPID DRYER!!! And she never lets things finish drying before messing around with it, so she's able to finish like 6 loads of laundry, which while I actually let things finish, and it takes me all day to finish like 4 loads. It's so annoying...

Well.... MAYBE, if you wanna get more work done so it gets out of the way or something, you should do what she does...
Also, how much clothing can you have?! I mean, 6 loads of clothing being dried, PER DAY?! All my clothing I wear comes to about half a washing load.... possibly a bit more, and that dries pretty much over night... It always seems that there is ALWAYS dirty washing, ALWAYS.... in EPIC amounts, there's only three of you! How can this much mess be caused?
